GP Active Monitoring
For those who attend their GP surgery with anxiety, depression or more complex issues, there is often a two week ‘watch and wait’ period and then medication. A hard pressed NHS service does not allow time for practical solutions or early help which would remove the need for medication.
GP Active Monitoring has been introduced into Clarence House Surgery in Rhyl as a pilot project starting September 2016 and then we are looking to roll out the project throughout the county. We are aware that counselling services are stretched and some people require a ‘Listening Ear’ either instead of, or as a stopgap until counselling services are available. We aim to work towards providing this service, perhaps in partnership with other organisations.
